football 2010-11

Last week both our football teams travelled to play in tournaments. The boys went to the newly built CCFC's academy and the girls travelled to a RCT football festival at the University of Glamorgan Playing Fields. They both performed brilliantly and one member of the boys team was picked up by CCGC's academy. A number of girls were scouted for the RCT's girls team. This all bodes well for an excellent season ahead. To view images of the season so far click on the images below.

A collection of great sporting moments from the Infant and Junior Sports Days. As always, the events centered on enjoyment and taking part, and this was clearly evident with all of the children showing great sporting spirit. Congratulations must go to all clun house members, who for the second year running won the Junior house cup. Click on the images above to see the entire collection.

Urdd Football Tournament 2010

This years annual Urdd Football Tournament was a fantastic day out for 37 footballers from Pontyclun Primary School. We took four teams who all played fantastically well, and with the correct sporting spirit. The day culminated in the boys team winning the 2010 trophy after playing and winning 8 matches without conceding a goal. We are all very proud of you at school, and well done to all the teams, you all played fantastically well.

Skiing Update - Tuesday

Hello all,

We've had another fun day on the slopes today. All the children are happy and enjoyed their second day of skiing. They have been bowling this evening and are now fast asleep! Everyone is looking forward to our final day tomorrow, before returning home to Mums and Dads.

Skiing 2010

Hi to all, we have just got back from the swimming pool after a fantastic day on the slopes. All of the children did really well today, and all could ski by the end of the session. They have been a pleasure to bring and are having a great time.

Celtic Dragons Netball

The netball girls went to watch a match at the Welsh Institute of Sport, Sophia Gardens. We all had free tickets given to us by Laura who came to coach us last week. The Celtic Dragons played Northern Thunder in the Celtic League but unfortunately lost the match. We all had a great time.

On Wednesday afternoon Laura Williams coach to the under 19 Welsh Netball Team 'The Celtic Dragons' came to school to visit us. We worked on some drills and had a fun afternoon. Here are some of us practising our passes.
